Let's Talk About Happiness!

If you look up the word happiness in the dictionary, it says, " 'Happiness' is the subject of debate on usage and meaning."  Then it goes on to list several different meanings of happiness.  I was surprised that it didn't state an overall definition of wellbeing, but then I realized so many different experiences define our happiness.

One thing I do know is that happiness does matter and that we are all meant to experience happiness in our lives. It's so easy to find yourself putting everyone else's happiness before your own and make excuses why you can neglect your individual needs.  I see myself doing this a lot, and I realized I am not being a very good example of what I am teaching others as a life coach.

I know deep down that it is entirely possible to look out for your own needs and still care for your friends and family.  If you're happy, then you're able to spread that happiness to everyone around you.  If you make a conscious choice to surround yourself with positive, happy people, then you are taking responsibility for your own life.

It's up to you to create your own happiness; no one can change your life and make you feel happy except you.  If you choose to be happy right now, then you are allowing joy, and you are designing your present and your future.

Do things that make you smile, experience things that create the feeling of a fulfilled life and that warm your heart.  If you wait for anyone else to make you happy you will be waiting for a long time.  Happiness comes from within, and it starts with you!

How happy do you want your life to be?

Have great week!
